2010 Sports Physicals

This annual event is held for only one day in the spring of every year as a community service. Sports Physicals cost $15 per student, and surpass Virginia High School League guidelines. Physical includes:

● Review of Medical History ● Height & Weight ● Blood Pressure ● Urinalysis ● Range of Motion Evaluation ● Vision Test ● Assessment of Mouth, Heart, Lungs, & Spleen ● Hernia Assessment for Male Athletes. On completeion students are eligible for sports participation through June 2011.

Time
8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Each school will be given a specific time slot. All athletes should arrive five minutes prior to their time slot. Athletes will be admitted as a group and will proceed through the school as a group. Males and females are all scheduled for the same time slot but in different areas for the exam.

Schedule
All other schools may come any time during the 8-12 time period for physicals.
8:00 - Northside High
8:30 - Northside Middle
9:00 - Northcross
9:30 - Roanoke Catholic
9:45 - Glenvar High
10:15 - Glenvar Middle
11:00 - Lord Botetourt
11:15 - Faith Christian
11:30 - Read Mtn School

Requirements
Each student must bring a VHSL Athletic Participation/Physical Examination form, filled out, and must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Eligibility
Students who will be in the 7th - 12th grade during the 2010-2011 academic year and plan on participating in school athletics.

Dress
Males - Shorts or pants (will need to remove shirt for orthopedic check)
Females - Shorts or pants and bathing suit top (or bathing suit) underneath clothes, (will need to remove shirt for orthopedic check)

Fee
$15.00 Cash or check, made out to Health Focus of SW VA.
